I didn't rush to any tourist attractions in Ningbo this time, so I stayed in a hotel for two whole days just to find a place to relax completely. I originally chose New Century Grand Hotel Ningbobecause of its ecological lake environment. However, after staying for 48 hours, I realized that its beauty is not just about being able to stay, but about being able to gradually soften your overall state from the moment you enter.
As soon as the car turned to the hotel entrance, I saw the doorman standing under the sunshade waiting. Before I could reach out, I picked up the trunk and even put a paper cover on the half cup of ice drink I was holding, afraid that the water on the cup would wet my handbag. The first thing you notice when entering the lobby is not the luxurious decoration, but the faint aroma of white tea in the air, without any pungent fragrance. The high dome blocks all the heat outside the door, even slowing down your steps unconsciously. When checking in, the front desk specifically said that they had reserved a lake view room for me. The floor is not too high or too low, and it just allows me to have a level view of the lake without feeling dizzy due to being too high.
At the moment of pushing open the door, the exhaustion of the journey dissipated for the most part. The whole floor window is just outside the spread of the lake. The wind gently shakes the reeds on the bank. The egret in the distance occasionally points at the water surface and ripples around. There are no flashy internet famous decorations piled up in the room. The beige decoration is warm and soft, and the bedding feels soft after being washed many times, not the stiff feeling of new fabrics. The most striking thing was the Noble Consort's bed by the window, which was just wide enough to half lie down. In the afternoon, I snuggled up on it and read half a novel under a thin blanket. The sunlight filtered through the curtains and fell on the pages of the book, even slowing down the passage of time.
The details that many people tend to overlook are the most thoughtful. The shower head in the bathroom has a dense and flowing water, which does not fluctuate between cold and hot. The anti slip pad is firmly attached to the ground, so there is no need to worry about slipping. The wind power of the hair dryer is strong enough, and long hair can dry completely in five minutes without having to hold up your arms for a long time. The mineral water in the mini bar is warm and cool, not too cold to the throat. If you want to drink something hot at night, the kettle is wiped clean and there is not even a trace of scale on the bottom. I casually mentioned bed recognition to the cleaner, and when I came back at night, I saw an extra buckwheat pillow placed at the head of the bed, along with a small plate of dried osmanthus flowers next to it, saying that drinking it in water can calm the mind.
The next day, I got up late. It was almost ten o'clock when I went to the breakfast stall. I thought there was nothing left. Unexpectedly, the freshly cooked rice dumpling was still steaming. When my aunt saw me coming, she scooped an extra spoonful of osmanthus candy. After breakfast, I walked along the hotel's lakeside trail for half an hour. The wind on the shore was wrapped in the fragrance of lotus leaves, and the passing waiters greeted me with smiles and nods. There was no deliberate attentiveness, but it made me feel particularly comfortable.
I used to think that staying in a hotel was just a stopover during travel, but this time I realized at New Century Grand Hotel Ningbo that good accommodation itself is the meaning of travel. It won't disturb you with excessive service, but it has prepared everything you need in advance. Next time I come to Ningbo, I won't go anywhere, I just want to come here and stay safe for two days.Show more
